Mind Body & Soul Surfing Club is hosting the 6th Annual “Recovery Run” in Lake Baldwin Park in Orlando, Florida.
Mind Body & Soul Surfing Club (also known as MBS) is happy to announce that they are hosting their 6th annual “recovery run” this year. This 5 & 10k run/walk event at Lake Baldwin Park benefits the Recovery Community in Central Florida and is near and dear to the members of MBS.
In 2013, John Foster, one of the Mind, Body and Soul Surfing Club founders and FCLC President, lost his son to addiction. John Wayne Foster, Jr., relapsed, overdosed on drugs and died after a year and a half into recovery. “Addiction is a disease that affects the entire family. It doesn’t discriminate either,” said John. “The Recovery Run sheds light on addiction and the hope found in recovery. While death is the reality of addiction, life is the reality of recovery.”
This year’s run/walk event is in memory of Ryan Green. Ryan was 27 years old. According to his family, “To know Ryan was to know a truly caring person. Ryan would give away his last dollar to someone in need, and he would invite the homeless into his apartment when it was cold outside.”
Proceeds Benefit Recovery Connections of Central Florida and The Mind Body and Soul Recovery Foundation.
The Mind Body and Soul Recovery Foundation and Recovery Connections of Central Florida are 501(c)3 corporations that have been supporting the recovery community in Central Florida for over ten years, and we are motivated to help them continue their efforts.
